The purpose of the Journal is to provide a mechanism to share knowledge related to improving health care and promoting the development of nursing. Journal of Advanced Nursing
Focus of journal /types of article wanted: The Journal of Advanced Nursing (JAN) contributes to the advancement of evidence-based nursing, midwifery and healthcare by disseminating high quality research and scholarship of contemporary relevance and with potential to advance knowledge for practice, education, management or policy. All JAN papers are required to have a sound scientific, evidential, theoretical or philosophical base and to be critical, questioning and scholarly in approach. As an international journal, JAN promotes diversity of research and scholarship in terms of culture, paradigm and healthcare context. For JAN's worldwide readership, authors are expected to make clear the wider international relevance of their work and to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural considerations and differences. The majority of papers in JAN are written by nurses and midwives but there are no constraints on authorship as long as papers fit with the expressed Aims and Scope. Journal of Child Health Care
Focus of journal /types of article wanted: The Journal of Child Health Care is a broad ranging, international, professionally-oriented, interdisciplinary and peer reviewed journal. It focuses on issues related to the health and health care of neonates, children, young people and their families, including areas such as illness, disability, complex needs, well-being, quality of life and mental health care in a diverse range of settings. The Journal of Child Health Care publishes original theoretical, empirical and review papers which have application to a wide variety of disciplines. Articles fall into two main areas; original research and reviews. Article word length is usually 3000-3500 words.
Target audience: Our target audience is international and includes professionals and people working within a variety of acute, tertiary and community practice settings as well as within research and education. Specifically it is of interest to children's nurses and health practitioners working with children and young people as well as other professionals such as social workers, dieticians, youth and community workers, teachers and voluntary workers.
