Nursing and midwifery leadership development programmes for England

The NHS Leadership Academy is investing over £46 million in core programmes mapping to foundation, mid and executive level leadership development.  Two of these programmes are for nurses and midwives:  one for front line leaders and the other for senior nursing and midwifery leaders.  Both free-of charge programmes are open to nurses and midwives working in the NHS; social care; and the voluntary and independent sector where care is funded by the NHS.

A range of senior stakeholders, including the Royal College of Nursing and the Royal College of Midwives, helped to develop these programmes.
