National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) - latest published guidance
NICE is an independent organisation responsible for providing national guidance on promoting good health and preventing and treating ill health. The guidance is developed using the expertise of the NHS and the wider healthcare community including NHS staff, healthcare professionals, patients and carers, industry and the academic world. NICE has issued the following guidance to the NHS in England and Wales (December 2012):
- Ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage
- Hepatitis B and C - ways to promote and offer testing
- Melanoma (BRAF V600 mutation positive, unresectable metastatic) - vemurafenib
- Melanoma (stage III or IV) - ipilimumab
- Leukaemia (acute myeloid ) - decitabine (terminated appraisal)
