Community nurses innovate to improve patient care projects for 2013
The Queen’s Nursing Institute announced details of the ten new nurse-led projects it will support during 2013 as part of their Fund for Innovation and Leadership programme. Bringing together a group of nurses each year, the year-long programme aims to test new ideas and improve care delivered by nurses, allied health professionals and their teams in the community.
Each project benefits from funding of up to £5,000 and the project leaders participate in a series of professional development workshops throughout the year. The Burdett Trust for Nursing supports the QNI Fund for Innovation and Leadership. The projects are:
- Dual Diagnostics Physical Health and Memory Assessment Service at the First Community Health and Care in Surrey
- Text 4 Health at the East Cheshire (NHS) Trust
- Anorexia Nervosa Support Programme at the Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust
- Improving health outcomes for children with a Learning Disability and constipation using abdominal massage at the Leicestershire Partnership Trust
- Managing Exam stress and anxiety in year 10 pupils at the Isle of Man Youth Service
