NIHR Flexibility and Sustainability Funding scheme changes from April 2012
Renamed Research Capability Funding, it will continue to allocate funds to research-active NHS organisations. The aim is a quality-driven fund that allows for local discretion and management of people to support and develop patient and people driven research.
The funding budget for 2012/13 will be £100 million comprising of two separate streams that are:
- Trust Research Capability Funding - allocated directly to eligible NHS
organisations for their own use - Network Research Capability Funding - allocated to NIHR Clinical Research Networks for their local research networks, via the NHS organisations that host each local network.
