Researching post traumatic stress disorder in humanitarian relief workers

What predicts the onset of PTSD, how can aid workers get support and protection before, during and after exposure to traumatic events, and what are the aid workers’ expectations for themselves? Support this ongoing research by completing a survey and/or an interview with the researchers at a time, place and method suitable for you. Closing date to take the survey is 10 August 2012.

Help define future research on dementia

Complete the Alzheimer Society's survey to ensure future research addresses the issues most important to those affected and therefore have the biggest impact on people’s lives. They are encouraging clinicians to voice comments including submitting any questions that you have been unable to find answers for. The survey closes on 30 June 2012.

£13 million funding for patient safety research centres in London and Manchester

In March 2012, the DH announced NIHR funding for two research centres to help make the NHS a safer place for patients. The money is for advancing and refining new ways of improving safety in hospitals, GP surgeries and in the community and goes to Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and NHS Greater Manchester.
