Where research sits in DH England's overview of the health and social care system in 2013
The DH has issued a diagrammatic explanation of how the health and care system will look, showing new organisations and changes to existing roles. These are in development over the course of 2012 with the new system up and running by April 2013.
The three research organisations identified in the diagram are categorised as supporting providers of care or safeguarding patients’ interests:
- NIHR clinical research network – categorised as Supporting Providers of Care
- National Institute of Health Research – categorised as Supporting Providers of Care
- Health Research Authority – categorised as Safeguarding Patients’ Interest
