Training

The importance of developing the research capacity within the nursing professions is well recognised. The aim of this section is to provide information on research education and training opportunities, as well as detailing support units, which are there to support your R&D needs.

Please note that if you are looking for funding for any of these training opportunities, we have a separate funding section

Research & development support units (RDSU)

RDSU’s are funded by various sources and tend to offer a broad range of support within a specific geographic location. They are not always referred to as RDSU’s, for example, they can also be referred to as a Research Consortium. Where the remit of other organisations is very similar we have included details.

Government training

The four countries of the UK have their own training remits, details of which are listed here

Postgraduate training

This section of the website offers guidance on postgraduate training opportunities within the broad field of research and practice development.

E-learning/online learning resources

e-Learning and online learning resources are also becoming more prevalent, and we have begun to compile a list of resources available

Specific training dates

Details of specific training dates (including those run by the RDSU's) can now be found in the diary dates section of the website.

Short courses

To reduce duplication of effort, we now recommend that you go to the RD Learning website  (http://www.rdlearning.org.uk/) if you are looking for a specific short course. RD Learning provides information on post-qualification courses, workshops, short courses and conferences. RD Learning can be searched by geographical area, subject, keyword or level of qualification.
