Career opportunities - criteria for inclusion

There are many useful services detailing comprehensive listings of job opportunities. This site does not purport to do this. The purpose of the RCN Research & Innovation website is to bring together information for nurses, midwives and health visitors (and other health care professionals) interested in research and practice development. If you would like to include a research post in this section, we ask that you carefully consider whether the post meets the following criteria:

  1. The primary focus of the post is research and/or practice development. Typically to be included in this section, the job title will mention research and/or practice development. For example, “Senior Lecturer in Research Methods” would fit the criteria, whereas “Senior Lecturer in Nutrition” (where the postholder is expected to contribute to the research themes of the School) would not fit the criteria.
  2. Due to the strong research focus of the roles, we will usually accommodate requests to advertise Reader and Professor posts. 

If you would like to submit details of your job, please email Gabrielle Levy, email: gabrielle.levy@rcn.org.uk with the subject heading "Job Opportunity", and include the following information:

  1. Institution
  2. Title of post
  3. If possible, specific URL where people can find out more information (NB www.myuniversity.ac.uk is not a specific URL, www.myuniversity.ac.uk/jobs/research/ref135a.htm is a specific URL)
  4. Contact details for people to phone/email for more information
  5. Deadline

As a general rule, all items accepted for inclusion will be included in ONE issue of the e-bulletin; in addition, it will be placed in the Latest News section of our website for the entire time it is relevant. If you want your item listed in multiple issues of the e-bulletin, you may want to consider our advertising option.
