Criteria for inclusion

There are many useful services detailing comprehensive listings of postgraduate opportunities. The postgraduate research training opportunities web pages do not purport to do this. The purpose of this section is to bring together information for nurses, midwives and health visitors (and other health care professionals) interested in research and practice development. If you would like to include a postgraduate course, we ask that you carefully consider whether the course meets the following criteria:

  • the primary focus of the course is research and/or practice development. All postgraduate courses will have a strong research theme, but typically to be included in this section, the course title will mention research and/or practice development. The main exception to this is that of Doctorates (both taught and research), all of which will be included.
  • the course must have been validated

If you would like to submit details of your course*, please email Gabrielle Levy on gabrielle.levy@rcn.org.uk with the subject heading "Postgraduate Training Opportunity", and include the following information:

  1. Institution
  2. Title of course
  3. Duration of course
  4. Details of course (in no more than 2 short sentences)
  5. Specific URL where people can find out more information (NB www.myuniversity.ac.uk is not a specific URL, www.myuniversity.ac.uk/health/postgrad/mres/ is a specific URL)
  6. If possible/relevant, contact details for people to phone/email for more information

* Please note that, whilst all relevant courses will be listed on the postgraduate research training opportunities web pages, only those courses with in-built funding will, in addition, be included in the weekly research e-bulletin. As a general rule, these will be included in ONE issue of the e-bulletin (and placed in the Latest News section of our website for the entire time it is relevant). If you want your item listed in multiple issues of the e-bulletin, you may want to consider our advertising option.
