Andy says: "Hi all. My name is Andy Wyllie and I am a 28-year-old mental health nursing student at Glasgow Caledonian University. I have been working within the health service for 11 years, as a health care assistant in a number of different health care settings, from mental health wards to Accident and Emergency, where I worked until I started my nurse training.

I became a student information officer (SIO) during my first year of training and was fortunate enough to gain a seat on the RCN Students Committee where I was able to represent the student nurses of Scotland at national level. This is my final year of training and I hope to qualify with a degree in mental health nursing."

Michelle says: "Hi, I'm Michelle, a newly qualified nurse, adult branch and I'm currently working the night shift in a nursing home. I'm the Vice-Chair of the committee as well as one of the committee members for Scotland, which is a great honour and involves trying to keep the often passionate discussions we have in our meetings under control - not always easy!

I have been on the committee for just over a year now and the best bit of it for me is meeting students and nurses from all over the country and listening to their stories and hopefully being able to help them out.
