Meet the RCN Student Team
The Royal College of Nursing has a dedicated national team for students which is a part of the Nursing Department that also manages the RCN Forums.
Student Adviser
Your student adviser Gill covers the four UK countries and is responsible for all national student issues such as bursaries, childcare, travel allowances, placement issues, accommodation and anything else that becomes a national issue.
She will lobby governments on your behalf and be involved in working with colleagues in each of the RCN regions and boards on all of these issues.
She will also facilitate the RCN Students Committee and help them produce and work on their annual strategy.
She is responsible for communicating with the students and is directly involved in the production of the RCN Students magazine and the website.

Student Co-ordinator
Your student co-ordinator Julie is responsible for organising and managing nationwide RCN student events (including the annual Students' Day at Congress and Student projects), administering the RCN Students Committee and is the first point of contact for students accessing the student team.
She also co-ordinates copy for the RCN Students magazine, keeps parts of the student area of the RCN website up to date and is currently working on raising the visibility of RCN students on social networking sites.
She is responsible for managing the student budget which funds all the major activities mentioned above and ensures that your representatives on the RCN Students Committee are supported so that they can support you.
She is also responsible for the administration for all the student
information officers - registering them and then sending out the monthly updates.
