Bursary uplift for students in England and Wales

From September 2008, all nursing and midwifery students in England, Scotland and Wales will be given a 2.5 per cent uplift on the student bursary.
RCN Student Adviser, Gill Robertson said, " While we, of course, welcome this increase, it is still of great concern to the RCN that students are having to take second and sometimes third jobs to make ends meet. "
It is, as yet, unclear as to whether Northern Ireland will follow this initiative.
