Eligibility criteria
Full membership of the RCN is open to any qualified nurse or midwife who has at some point registered a nursing or midwifery or specialist community public health nursing qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and as a result is on one or more of parts of the current NMC register.
The current status of NMC registration, that is, whether it is an active or a lapsed registration is irrelevant.
Exclusions
Members who have been removed from the NMC register will be advised in writing that they can no longer remain in membership, and their membership will be terminated with immediate effect.
Period of availability
The period of availability is ongoing, or until the member meets the criteria for, and wishes to transfer to an alternative category of membership.
Current subscription rate
The current rate (from 1st January 2008) is £185.04 or £15.42 if the option for monthly Direct Debit is chosen.
