Associate non practising member
Eligibility criteria
Associate non practising membership is available to those nurses who wish to take out membership of the RCN, but who are not working, or who are not working in a role where a recognised nursing qualification is a requirement to enable them to undertake that role.
Exclusions
Associate non practising membership is not available unless a member has been in another membership category for a period of at least one year, though they are not required to be in current membership.
Period of availability
A member may remain in this category of membership for as long as is required, or until the member gains employment in a role where a nursing qualification is mandatory or where they are being employed in a role where they are required to utilise their nursing skills/and or experience.
Current subscription rate
The current subscription rate is one quarter of the full member rate. See the Appendices section for more details.
