Eligibility criteria
Fellowship is a gift of RCN council, rather than a membership category per se. It is bestowed for exceptional contributions to nursing, and nominations are considered annually. Previous membership of the RCN for at least five years is required before being considered for Fellowship.
Honorary Fellowships can be granted by RCN Council to those who are unable to become an RCN member, either because they are from overseas or because they work outside the nursing profession. Honorary Fellows gain no rights or privileges of membership.
Exclusions
Anyone in membership of the RCN for less than five years.
Period of availability
The period of availability is ongoing once granted.
Current subscription rate
The current subscription rate is the main membership category that the member is in, or no fee for Honorary Fellows. For Fellow Retired members the fee is £10 annually, or £0.84p is the monthly Direct Debit option is chosen

Notes
Indemnity insurance, employment relations support and eligibility to stand for council or regional or national Board is dependent on the main membership category that the member is in.
Overseas members do not receive the RCN Bulletin/Jobs Extra.
Honorary Fellows gain no rights or privileges of membership.
