Health care support worker concessionary
Eligibility criteria
A health care support worker joining the RCN for the first time who must either have:
- a qualification in health and care at level one of the National Qualifications Framework in England, Wales or Northern Ireland or level three of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework in Scotland, OR
- provide health and social care and have their routine work delegated to them by a registered nurse or midwife.
Exclusions
Anyone not having a qualification in health and care at level one of the National Qualifications Framework in England, Wales or Northern Ireland or level three of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework in Scotland OR someone providing health and social care where their routine work delegated to them by a registered nurse or midwife.
Anyone with a registered nursing or midwifery qualification who will need to take out Full membership.
Any Health Care Support Worker who has previously been in membership of the RCN, who will need to take out Full HCSW membership.
Period of availability
The period of availability is one year from joining as a HCSW member.
Current subscription rate
The current subscription rate is three quarters of the Full HCA rate. See the Appendices section for further details.
