Nurse first year discount membership
The membership payment plan for newly qualified nurses.
Eligibility criteria required and exclusions
Nurse members are on the register of persons engaged in nursing, and whose names have not been removed from that register for reason of misconduct, so: anyone with a nursing, midwifery or health visitor qualification registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
The registration may be live or lapsed. The key is that they are 'on' the register, and either:
- for those members transferring to this category from RCN student membership on completion of their training (this category is only available to those individuals who are in student membership of the RCN at the point they complete their training and register with the NMC).
or
- for those joining the RCN for the first time within one year of registering with the NMC for the first time.
Anyone who has been registered with the NMC for more than one year is eligible for full nurse membership.
Members who have been removed from the NMC register will be advised in writing that they can no longer remain in membership, and their membership will be terminated with immediate effect.
