Other awards like those listed here are currently offered through membership of one of the RCN's national forums and advertised in the newsletter of the relevant forum.

RCN Blood Transfusion Forum bursaries

The RCN Blood Transfusion Nursing Forum welcomes applications from registered members of the forum. The purpose of this bursary scheme is to support established practitioners within the forum to access relevant study courses or to help assist with travel to conferences or centres of excellence. The maximum amount available will be £500 per applicant and there should be evidence of a willingness to self fund some of the total costs involved.

Barbara Saunders Award - stoma care

Funding to attend professional meetings, courses, undertake research or study to improve stoma care.

Open to members of RCN Gastroenterology and Stoma Care Nursing Forum.

RCN Research Society Marjorie Simpson new researchers award

An award for new or inexperienced researchers, currently undertaking a postgraduate course of study leading to a higher degree (MSc, MPhil, PhD).

 RCN Research Society Akinsanya Award for innovation in doctoral studies in nursing

The award is granted to the most innovative thesis in the nursing disciplines. Excellence in scholarship, innovation and the potential to influence health care policy or practice will be the main criteria for deciding the award. The successful applicant will be supported in the dissemination of their work through a variety of media and will be awarded a free place at the RCN International Nursing Research Conference in Cardiff, 2009. They will also receive a cash prize of £250.
