AGM
The aim of the AGM is to provide the Council with the opportunity to report to members on their stewardship of the RCN over the past year.
The AGM is a key opportunity for RCN members to ask questions on issues that really matter to them and to help shape the future agenda of the organisation. It provides a mechanism for members to find out more about the services and benefits the RCN has to offer and to see how their subscriptions are being sent.
An Annual General Meeting is held once a year and all members can attend, ask questions of the top table and vote.
To ensure that members throughout the UK have a chance to come to an AGM it is held in a different city every year.
The business that must be considered by the AGM is specified in the bye-laws. For more information about the RCN's bye-laws see the Governance section of the site: Bye-laws
Council can include any additional items of business it feels is appropriate. The Chair of Council will present the Annual Report of Council. The Honorary Treasurer presents the accounts for the previous year to the membership. There will also be speeches from the President and the General Secretary.
