Information for first-time Congress attendees

Northern Ireland

The RCN Northern Ireland board is providing funding to support four members to attend Congress 2012.

These places are specifically for RCN members in Northern Ireland who are interested in attending Congress for the first time.

One other place is also available for members in the Southern Branch area.

If you are available from 13 – 18 May 2012 and meet the criteria for any of these places, please contact Valerie Cobain for an application pack on 028 9038 4600 or email valerie.cobain@rcn.org.uk

Closing date for all applications is Wednesday 15 February.

South East

Always wanted to go to Congress but haven’t? If you work in the South East region you might get lucky.

The region has a pot of money to offer as discretionary funding for a maximum of six people. You could be awarded up to £350 to attend Congress.

What’s the catch? Well if you are chosen and not already an active branch member then you will be expected to visit your branch prior to Congress to introduce yourself, and to attend afterwards to describe your experience. But that isn’t a catch it will be fun!

Patricia Marquis, South East Regional Director, said: “Congress is an experience all RCN members should have, and we’re happy to be able to offer some financial help for this.”

The grant can be used for accommodation and travel in accordance with the RCN’s expenses policy.

To apply, outline why you believe you should be eligible for financial support in an email or letter by 8 February to michael.reilly@rcn.org.uk.
Include your name, employer, membership number and workplace address. Those chosen will be notified by 15 February.
