Bernell Bussue, Director RCN London, RCN Council and London Regional Board members and staff hosted a successful and truly diverse welcome event.

Over 150 London members enjoyed a trip down memory lane celebrating the 60th birthday of the NHS through a slide show of fabulous photographs - we saw Bernell as a ‘babe’ and Chris Beasley, Chief Nursing Officer (England) as a junior staff nurse.

The event also commended and celebrated five members who were presented with long service and merit awards. There was a special presentation to staff member Jenny Elliott for services to the RCN over the last 25 years.

During the evening, the region also collected over £250 for the RCN London congress charity collection to help the Gondor Teaching Hospital in Ethiopia for its development and leadership programme. The event was ably compered by Ian Norris, London board member whose other job is as stand-up comedian!

The whole evening reflected the diversity of London and Londoners.
