Going green at Congress

Each year, we strive to reduce the impact Congress has on the environment, and this year we are aiming for our greenest Congress yet.

We are introducing a number of new initiatives to keep our environmental impact to a minimum:

Less but recycled paper

Wherever possible, we will publish information here on the website, instead of printing it to cut the amount of unwanted paper at Congress.

Obviously there are some essential bits of information that do need to be printed, so this year all your Congress booklets, leaflets, tickets and letters will be produced on 100 per cent recycled, chlorine-free paper, from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved sources. In addition, the stage set in the main auditorium will be made of FSC certified timber.

Recycle more

At Harrogate International Conference Centre, we will provide less rubbish bins and lots more recycling points, to ensure that all your used paper, bottles and cans be recycled.

Congress delegate bags will be made of 100 per cent recycled bio-degradable cotton, and can be used again and again.

Going local

Wherever possible, we will be using local catering suppliers to ensure that your refreshments haven’t travelled far to get to you.

To help ensure these initiatives are as successful as possible, we are elying on you, the Congress delegates, to play your part by wasting as little as possible and recycle as much as you can.

Help us go green together!
