Welcome to Congress 2010
This year our theme is Caring together which illustrates the importance of the entire nursing family in delivering consistent, quality patient care. Patients, their families, communities and government depend on the expertise, dedication, team work and commitment of every single member of the nursing team. It is this commitment to care that drives the profession forward. The theme of Caring together truly reflects the spirit of the profession and the people who work within it.
Congress couldn’t be a better example of our collective determination to provide top quality care, and this year we’ll be using a whole range of e-communications to make sure that even if you can’t be in Bournemouth, you can be part of the event.
As usual you can watch the debates live on the RCN website, but this year there’ll also be online news and reports specifically for members not at Congress and updates via social networking sites and blogging.
We have already enjoyed a wonderful opening evening of Congress and you will be able to access RCN President Maura Buchanan’s speech and the RCN Awards ceremony on our website. As always the range of achievements celebrated was an inspiration to us all.
Please make the most of your virtual Congress experience and in particular make sure you look out for more about the various RCN election opportunities that are being launched, further developments in the Legal and Governance Review and a trip to Congress future, where we’ll be asking for your views on what Congress should look like in years to come.
