Future Congress: what’s it all about?
Congress has been around for over 90 years, had lots of different themes and been host to cutting edge and iconic speakers addressing an ever changing nursing profession.
The RCN wants members to shape the future of Congress, starting with a main hall discussion on Wednesday afternoon and then further debates at board, branch, forum, committee meetings and on the website.
So, we are asking members to consider the following questions about the future of Congress:
- What Congress do we need?
- Is Congress value for money?
- Should the event look and feel different?
- How can we increase diversity throughout our Congress agenda?
- What difference will technology make?
- Should we re-join Congress and the Annual General Meeting?
- How can we ensure democratic representation in the resolutions and matters for discussion?
- How can we ensure all voting members attend and vote?
- How (or should) we get more members involved?
- What is the role of the agenda committee?
There will be more opportunities to get involved in the debate and shape the future of Congress, so keep an eye out in Bulletin and on the RCN website.
