John Goodlad worked for the RCN as a Labour Relations Officer from 1977 until his death in November 1991. This annual lecture was established as a tribute to him.
This year Dr Steve Boorman will discuss his 2009 groundbreaking review into the health and wellbeing of the NHS workforce and his recommendations for health care to be an exemplar employer in terms of promoting the health and wellbeing of staff. Almost four years on from his review, Dr Boorman will consider what progress has been made, explore some of the ongoing challenges and share his views on what more should be done. The lecture provides a timely review of actions to improve the health of nurses and health care assistants.
