Health and wellbeing

  • Tuesday, 13.00-14.00
  • | The ACC 9

Contrary to popular belief, there is a difference between stress and anxiety. Stress comes from the pressures we feel in life, as we are pushed by work or other tasks that put undue pressure on our minds and body, adrenaline is released, blood pressure rises, depression and other negative effects kick in. One of these negative effects is anxiety. With anxiety, fear overcomes all emotions accompanied by worry and apprehension. Other symptoms are chest pains, dizziness, and shortness of breath and panic attacks.

This workshop will look at the overall effects of stress and how to manage one of the most negative aspects of anxiety, facilitated by Jacqui Jablaoui, Head of RCN Member Support Services.
