Personality disorder and the non-psychosis pathway
RCN North of Tyne Branch
Skills development and training
- Tuesday, 18.00-19.00
- | The ACC 11C
This session is a chance for members to get an update on what has been happening in the care and treatment of personality disorder since the passing of Resolution 10 by Congress in 2010. Work is continuing on raising awareness of personality disorder among nursing staff, including ongoing work with the Care Packages and Pathway Programme (a consortium of organisations in the Yorkshire & Humber and North East areas who are working together to develop payment by results for mental health). This event will discuss personality disorder and non-psychotic disorders. Extreme variations of personality will be explored as influencing variables in these disorders. Also, the age range of individuals admitted to psychiatric wards will be briefly looked at, with an emphasis on those below 15 years of age and there will be a discussion on the concept of early intervention.
Nurses of all disciplines, particularly mental health, adult nurses and A&E nurses will benefit from attending this event.
