The role of the link nurse: developing a link nurse framework to support infection prevention and control
IPC Network
Skills development and training
- Tuesday, 12.45-13.45
- | Jurys Inn 6
Using infection prevention and control as an example, this session will cover the development of the first national link nurse (LN) role framework and associated competences - these can then be adapted for any link nurse/practitioner role regardless of setting, and focus is on the skills and behaviour of health care staff as opposed to tasks.
The session will also explore how four simple competences can be used to support professional and personal development, as well as influencing culture changes within organisations to improve the quality and safety of patients.
