The Emergency Care Association, in collaboration with the Faculty of Emergency Nursing and other emergency and urgent care experts, has developed a tool which can estimate numbers of staff required in individual departments. It examines patient dependency and generates the number of nurses (and their required skills) that might be expected to deal with that number and dependency of patients across a 24 hour period in individual departments.

This session will be of interest to staff in emergency departments and managers who wish to define the number of staff they need to provide safe and effective staffing in this critical area.
