RCN guidance for improving transfusion practice

Last published in 2004, this new guidance publication will set out advice for nurses in the administration of red blood cells and plasma components in acute hospital care. 

It will also describe the role of the nurse in the transfusion process, guidance on appropriate collection techniques and the importance of patient monitoring.
