In respect of career planning and practising as a therapist, participants should contact relevant professional bodies for advice and guidance with details of the courses and qualifications they are thinking of undertaking. The professional bodies will be able to confirm whether the courses are appropriate for career development.
The Chrysalis Integrated Diploma is a two year, entry-price course and extends into a three year advanced diploma which allows students to work with deeper issues.
Courses are recognised by the Counselling Society and lead to full professional accreditation as an automatic right. Courses are also approved by the Open University. Graduates are entitled to practice under the title 'Chrysalis therapist'.
Direct entry to the integrated diploma second year is available at the discretion of professionally accredited hypnotherapists or students with counselling skills qualifications. Open University credits of 35 points at undergraduate level two (FHEQ level five/SCQF level eight) can be achieved.
- The course provides successful learners with a professional qualification that enables them to change their career direction or enhance their current employment. The aim is to provide learners with the tools and skills to enable them to assist clients to work on their individual issues to a satisfactory and beneficial conclusion.
- The course has been developed to be suitable for adult education form 22 years upwards, there being no upper limit. Classes are run from 28 venues throughout England and tutors are sourced from professional bodies with excellent experience and skills in the field in which they are teaching. Classes are held at weekends in a venue that is convenient and suitable for the class, with class sizes generally of around 20 students.
- Teaching is conducted in a variety of styles to suit all learners including lectures, media presentations, discussions, presentations from groups, group work, pairs work, one to one tutor interaction and individual disclosure and reflection. There is an emphasis on putting theoretical learning into competent practice.
- Students gaining their diploma can go on to study for the Advanced Diploma in Psychotheurapetic Counselling. Payment methods are discussed at an individual interview with discounts for payment in advance and by credit card. Instalment payments are available.
Study hours: 650
Each year of study consists of 10 modules. The modules are taught on one weekend day in the month and learners must attend a minimum of nine out of the 10 class modules. The additional assigned tasks for the month are managed by the learner in their own time with tutor support where needed.
