Health care assistant long-term conditions course (LCT)
Date: 24 May 2012 to 25 May 2012
Location: Venue TBC
This course is delivered in the north west of England but bespoke courses can be arranged on application. Please contact Primary Care Training Solutions Ltd for more information and to discuss your needs.
Primary Care Training Solutions Ltd provides training and development for health care assistants (HCAs) in primary care to support their evolving role and continuing professional development.
- The course has been carefully designed to give more experienced HCAs the opportunity to develop skills and competences in long term conditions (five study days/six months work based learning).
- All elements of the course are also linked to the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) and competences can be matched to the NVQ in Health and Social Care, supporting HCAs who may be working towards these qualifications.
- The course emphasises the need for work based learning and utilise the skills of an experienced nurse mentor in practice to support the HCA to complete both written assessment and practical competences as required for successful completion of the course.
It is essential that the practice fully support and commit to their HCA undertaking the study as well as the need for the HCA to undertake some self-directed learning. This is a six month course with a taught element of five days. The five study days are delivered alternate weeks during the first 12 weeks. The six month practical element takes place under mentored supervision in the candidates place of practice during which time the candidate must work a minimum two days per week.
We provide excellent trainers to deliver the courses as well as ongoing support to ensure HCAs achieve success. Courses are fully evaluated and we have many positive testimonials from past candidates.
