RCN joint educational forums' 2nd international conference and exhibition

Date: 11 June 2009 to 13 June 2009

Location: Thistle Hotel, Glasgow, Scotland

Beyond the borders: innovations for international excellence in nurse education

This conference will address a range of critically important themes relating to nursing education. It is designed to bring together nursing educators from across the globe, who are proactive in providing innovative educational practice to meet the changing needs of nursing; nursing students and health care personnel. Such education will facilitate effective systems for patient care delivery wherever that may be.

Some of the world’s principal leaders in the global context of nursing education and practice today will be invited through keynote speeches to share evidence, views and innovations about nursing education for nursing practice. This is also an
excellent opportunity to develop a strong global network with nursing education colleagues internationally.

Abstract submission information is done via an on-line submission website. Access to this site will be available from June 2008. Please re-visit this page in June when the link for the website will be ready.

Abstracts are invited for concurrent and poster presentations and should fall under the one of the following themes, although other areas will be considered.

  • New learning and teaching technologies and pedagogies.
  • Lifelong learning for an internationalised workforce.
  • Sharing international and local innovations which facilitate or challenge issues related to diversity in nurse education and practice.
  • International research and practice initiatives in nursing education.
  • Nursing education leadership and competency.
  • Responses to political and humanitarian crises.
  • Education for nursing support roles.
  • New working to support the Bologna Declaration.

The conference planning team look forward to receiving your abstracts and welcoming you to this second international education conference.
