NGOs standing together for the Human Rights Act

Leading organisations call on political party leaders to protect the Human Rights Act in an open letter to mark international Human Rights Day on10 December. These organisations cover a diverse range of issues. We have collectively come together to speak with one voice to express disappointment that the Human Rights Act is all too often vilified, and call for leadership from our political leaders on the Human Rights Act.
RCN opposes Chancellor’s push for local pay deals

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) today responded to a letter from Chancellor George Osborne to the pay review body. The letter proposes a move from a national NHS pay deal to one based on regional negotiation.

Today (1 December), 11 nurses attended a debate in the House of Lords on frontline nursing care. The debate, tabled by Baroness Audrey Emerton, covered a variety of issues including nurse education and training, specialist nursing and safe staffing levels. The House heard from a total of 12 Peers, including Health Minister, Earl Howe.
