The RCN's East Midlands Regional Board welcomed two newly-appointed members to its meeting at the regional office at the end of May.
The Board’s membership has been broadened to include a representative of the Work Injured Nurses Group in the East Midlands, Martin Birchenall, and Pauline Smolak, who represents RCN members in the region who have retired from nursing.
Board chair Evelyn Nicholls said: "I’m very pleased to welcome Martin and Pauline to the Board and look forward to their contributing to the work of the RCN in the region. Their appointments serve to enrich the wealth of experience and knowledge that the Board can call upon from among its members."
The Board considered a number of important issues at its meeting, including feedback on the three-year NHS pay offer, a report on RCN Council business, feedback on the region’s presence at Congress, an update on equality and diversity activity and the development of the region’s web pages.
Further information is available on the Board's web pages.
