Right from Wrong .... Learning the Lessons?

Published: 21 May 2009

This very successful conference , held on 23 April, in conjunction with Anglia Ruskin University was organised by Nikki Ward, Eastern Region's learning disability lead and Ann Norman, LD and prison nurse lead. It was aimed at healthcare professionals working with people with learning difficulties, and delegates came from all health care sectors in Eastern Region.

There was a fascinating range of speakers, including Beverley Dawkins from Mencap, Anne Richardson, Mark Bradley and Paul Gantley from the department of health, and Marilyn Martin, Eastern Region Dignity lead. Subjects included:

  • Valuing People Now
  • Debrivation of Liberties
  • Dignity

It is hoped that this is the first of regular LD conferences to be held in Eastern Region and delegates were asked for details of any future subjects they might find useful to include.

If you work in this field and would like to catch up with your LD lead please contact Nikki Ward at the Eastern Region office on 01284 717711.
