Have your say on plans for NMC subs rise

Published: 26 June 2012

What do you think about the 58% rise in subs proposed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council?

A 58% rise in the annual fee at a time of huge economic pressures on nursing staff? If you are upset about this take part in the RCN’s NMC consultation http://frontlinefirst.rcn.org.uk/page/s/NMCsurvey
which runs until late August. The NMC rise would raise subs for a qualified nurse by more than a half from £76 pa to £120pa which the NMC says it needs to deal with a huge rise in the number of ‘fitness to practice` complaints.

The RCN has joined with other health unions to say that, whilst the role of the NMC in protecting the public is essential, nurses are being asked to pay for the organisation’s management inefficiencies with money they can ill afford.
