Inner North Central London Branch Conference on dementia

The Inner North Central London Branch-sponored conference on dementia was held on 12 October 2012 at St Pancras Hospital. The Branch Chair is Cecilia Anim, RCN Deputy President.

The event was chaired by Bernell Bussue, Director of RCN London. The conference theme was ‘Dementia into Old Age’ and approximately 75 nurses attended from across London and the home counties.

The participants were informed by a range of speakers about the work the RCN is doing on Dementia, This is Nursing and The Principles of Nursing Practice. Additionally, employees of Central and North West London Mental Health Trust presented on initiatives that were happening within their trust from Admiral Nurses to the strategic vision from the Chief Executive and Director of Nursing.

Patricia Wash, an Occupational Health Nurse who attended, said: “Thank you and everyone at the RCN for organising a wonderful Conference on Dementia which I attended yesterday. It was a most informative and inspirational day in every aspect and an opportunity to network with wonderful colleagues in a relaxed manner. A splendid day in every way.”
