London Region welcomes its members
On Sunday 27 April 2008 London Council members, Board members and staff welcomed all London members to Congress. An informal dinner was hosted by the region for all its members and was a very vibrant and exciting event. Welcome visitors to the event were Peter Carter RCN Chief Executive and General Secretary, Tom Sandford Head of RCN England, Heather Bond and Nancy Esterston from the St Georges Nurses League, sponsored by Wandsworth Branch and Maureen Davies from London SHA.
Every year at this event the region supports a small charity and this year the charity supported was the Leicester/ Gondar Hospital which provides nurse education in Ethiopia and the aim this year was to raise money for the provision of nursing textbooks. Due to the generosity of London members we were able to raise £251 for this charity, a fantastic result and many thanks to all who contributed.
