UK Joint Reps' Conference allocation of places criteria
Published: 24 April 2008
Calling all London representatives planning to attend the UK Joint Representatives' Conference
All London representatives have been invited to the UK Joint Representatives' Conference, which is on 27 and 28 June 2008. They have been asked to send their expressions of interest to the regional office by Friday 9 May at the latest. Places are then allocated according to the following criteria:
- The representative should be in a position to give feedback to other representatives in the branch.
- The representative must be able to attend the whole event. The programme has been designed as a residential event but if participants cannot stay overnight they must still be available for all of the planned programme.
- Attendance should be seen as part of the representative’s development and identified as a learning need.
- The representative should have sufficient experience to be able to make a contribution (this may appear to contradict the previous point but there should be a balance between experienced representatives and those who are more recently accredited).
- Frequency of attendance should be considered – it should not necessarily be the same representatives as those who always go to the national conferences for stewards, safety and learning representatives.
- Members of the three UK committees should automatically be given places from your allocation (ie three places per region).
Detailed figures for the allocation numbers from each region can be found in the table in this document: Conference places (Word, 47.5KB).
Please contact Alison Telfer: alison.telfer@rcn.org.uk if you have any further questions about the allocation.
