The keynote address will be given by RCN President Andrea Spyropolous. Speakers include Karen Dutton, Work Based Education Facilitator; Jackie Bird, Director of Nursing & Quality; Philip Dylak, Former Director of Nursing and Maria Burney, Team Leader Special Schools / Learning Disabilities / Transition Lead.
Aim
The conference will highlight the issues faced by nurses who are providing patient care from a variety of practice areas. The programme will inform participants about projects to develop best practice and to have a positive impact on the delivery of care.
Learning Outcomes
* Discuss how work based education can improve the quality of patient care and improve the motivation of staff
* Describe how improving professional values and attitudes can positively impact on how care is delivered and enhance the patient experience
* Outline what steps can be taken to reduce the amount of time spent completing paperwork and administration whilst maintaining quality and minimising risk
* Present an outline of the need for optimum staffing levels in all care settings in order to produce the highest possible quality of nursing care
* Identify the effect of good leadership within the work-force and show how this can increase the motivation and consequently improve the delivery of care
