Have your say about the consultations in North Cumbria

“Two major consultations are underway in North Cumbria at the moment which are destined to change the way healthcare is provided in the area.” Says Martin O’Neill, RCN Officer for Cumbria. “We need to hear your voice.”
“Closer to Home” is an NHS consultation on providing more healthcare in the community in North Cumbria, this proposal includes plans for the future of West Cumberland Hospital and the nine community hospitals.

“Your Health, Your Cumbria, Your Views” is a consultation with the public of North Cumbria on the North Cumbria Acute Hospitals NHS Trusts plans to become an NHS Foundation Trust from July 2008.

The consultations run until 4 and 7 January 2008 respectively, and consultation documents are available locally. The Royal College of Nursing East and West Cumbria branches will be responding to both documents and to enable us to put forward an informed response we need your views. To facilitate this Martin O’Neill, RCN Officer, will be available in the following locations and dates to meet with you to discuss your views:
- Keswick/Penrith – 29 November
- Carlisle – 3 December
- Whitehaven/Workington – 7 December
