RCN Northern Ireland Evening Masterclass and Christmas Reception
RCN Northern Ireland members, health service leaders and other stakeholders, guests and staff attended an Evening Masterclass and Christmas Reception at the RCN Northern Ireland offices on Tuesday 11 December 2007.
The Masterclass featured a presentation by Professor Alan Maynard of the University of York, entitled Incentivising quality improvement: opportunities and challenges. Professor Maynard considered whether the evidence base of the current health care system is sufficiently robust and whether the service could be transformed by investing in patient-reported outcome measurements [PROMs] and incentives to oblige managers to focus more overtly upon care that demonstrably benefits patients.
