RCN chief visits Shetland and Orkney
Published: 28 July 2008
RCN Chief Executive Peter Carter and RCN Scotland Director Theresa Fyffe visited the Orkney and Shetland Isles last month to meet with members. The meetings were arranged by RCN Scotland Board members Norma Laurenson and Kath Pye.
Kath said: “Members really appreciated Peter and Theresa visiting, and Peter seemed to enjoy it and was surprised at the number of islands we service. He clearly appreciated the high standards and cleanliness that nursing staff keep on the islands. This visit was really important and showed that the RCN can influence policy and bring about positive change when things are working well, not just when there’s a problem.”
