Free tools to help you deliver dementia care

Published: 24 May 2012

The RCN South East is spreading the word about the RCN's new dementia care tools through workplaces in the region.

Multiple workplaces in both the NHS and the independent sector have taken up the offer of free posters, pocket guides and checklists to help nursing staff remember the Principles for the care of people with dementia in general hospital settings.

Patricia Marquis, Director of the RCN South East Region, said: "These tools represent a real step forward for the care of people with dementia.

"Whatever their reason for admission to a general care setting, a person with dementia needs to have their condition recognised and treated appropriately.

"The principles offer nursing staff at all levels a set of clear guidelines for doing this."
