Following a successful march through the streets of Jersey, the States Employment Board (SEB) on the island have returned a new and improved offer to nurses.
The offer is now:

- The offer for 2013 has been increased from 3% to 4% and this will be paid to staff, backdated to January 1st once pay negotiations are concluded.
- Nurses and midwives would receive 1% non consolidated in 2012, 4% consolidated in 2014 with a further 4% available on January 1st 2014.

Kenny McNeil, RCN Convenor and Chair of Staffside on Jersey said: “We welcome this new offer and are pleased that the SEB have listened, in part, to our concerns although it is a shame they haven’t addressed our concerns regarding the 2012 pay. Our next steps are to put this offer to our members and let them have their say before committing to accept or reject the offer.”
Over the coming weeks, members will be asked to accept or reject this offer via an RCN poll. Once the results are in the Branch will be able to make a decision on how to respond to the SEB.
