Jersey nursing unions hold combined rally to debate pay offer next steps
Published: 17 January 2013
The RCN, with other Jersey unions, will rally nursing and midwifery staff on Thursday 24 January in an open discussion of the States' Employment Board's current Pay Offer.
The combined meeting of the RCN, JNA and RCM takes place at St Helier Town Hall from 7pm and is an opportunity for members of the nursing and midwifery workforce to make their voices heard.
Posters for the event can be downloaded here.
The RCN believes the pay offer does not address long-standing problems with nurses' and midwives' pay on Jersey, and does not significantly close the gap between the salaries of these workers and others in comparable roles.
The RCN is also very disappointed that the SEB has declined an invitation to attend the meeting on 24 January, and is encouraging members to write letters to the SEB expressing this disappointment. Standard letters can be downloaded here (Word 12KB).
