Nominations needed for South East Board

Published: 15 April 2008

Help us shape member needs in the region

Are you a nurses or healthcare assistant who have had experience of governance?  Would you like to be a voice for RCN members working in the South East?  If so, there is a fantastic opportunity to help shape decision making in the region.

The South East Regional Board is responsible for RCN strategy to meet members’ needs in the region, for influencing health policy and for securing effective RCN governance at regional level.

A development programme for Board Members is in place and new skills will be learnt such as political influencing and leadership that can be used in the workplace to the benefit of patients and your employer.

The South East Regional Board comprises three geographical areas for the purposes of direct elections to the Board. The seats due for election are:

  • South Central: 3 seats
  • South East Coast: 4 seats
  • The Channel Islands: 1 seat
  • Student Representative: 1 seat

We are looking for nurses or healthcare assistants who have had experience of governance to work with us to contribute to influencing nursing and health in the Region.

There are strict criteria governing the nomination process, but anyone who wants an informal chat about these posts and the process should contact Board Chair, Jenny Booth, by phoning 0207 647 3815.
