South East to hold its first hospice conference

A special educational event for RCN members working in palliative care will be held on Wednesday 7 November at the Mandolay Hotel in Guildford.

There will be 60 places available for the event, which will feature expert speakers on topics of special interest to hospice nursing staff.

The RCN South East's Independent Sector Team is in the process of putting together a programme intended to give maximum benefit to attendees, and several employers in the region have already committed to funding some places for their staff.

RCN Officer Teresa Budrey, who leads the Independent Sector Team, said: "We have plenty of ideas and have had lots of offers for potential speakers, so we're sure we'll be putting together an interesting programme. Watch this space for more information."
